Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support licensed physical therapists in delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services to diverse patient populations across various clinical settings. Your expertise will facilitate effective treatment implementation, promote patient recovery, and enhance overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy principles, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care within a collaborative environment. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients across outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing facility, home health, and pediatric settings. Perform therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other physiotherapy techniques to improve mobility, strength, and function. Operate and maintain medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments while adhering to safety standards. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, and nurses to coordinate patient care. Communicate clearly with clients and caregivers regarding treatment goals, procedures, and progress updates. Conduct clinical assessments and document findings comprehensively to support ongoing care decisions. Support discharge planning processes by preparing detailed reports on patient progress and recommendations for continued therapy or home care. Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards and ensure all medical documentation meets regulatory requirements. Participate in ongoing training related to physiotherapy techniques such as manual therapy and trigger point therapy. Qualifications Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program; current licensure or registration as required by the state or country. Prior experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology. Proficiency in operating physical therapy equipment and managing electronic health records (EHR). Experience with clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards. Strong communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions. Ability to perform manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy confidently. Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development. Previous exposure to acute care settings or skilled nursing facilities enhances suitability for this role.
