$30.00 - $50.00 per hour Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients across diverse settings to achieve their highest level of independence and well-being. In this energetic position, you will collaborate closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement personalized treatment plans, assist with activities of daily living, and facilitate meaningful progress for clients of all ages. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility support, ensuring safety and comfort during care. Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, adapting techniques for pediatric, geriatric, or neurodevelopmental clients as needed. Support pediatric occupational therapy sessions focused on childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder interventions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans tailored to individual needs across inpatient, outpatient, home health, or skilled nursing facility environments. Facilitate patient transport within facilities and assist with manual handling to ensure safe movement of clients during therapy sessions or transfers. Maintain accurate care documentation, progress notes, and treatment records following medical terminology standards and facility protocols. Communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to provide education on therapy exercises, safety measures, and ongoing care strategies. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices. Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and perform manual handling safely in various settings such as inpatient hospitals or outpatient clinics. Experience working with pediatric populations, including childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder therapies. Familiarity with medical imaging terminology and treatment plan implementation is a plus. Strong caregiver and client communication skills to foster trust and understanding. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care. Inpatient experience or skilled nursing facility background preferred; outpatient or home health experience is also valued.
