Job Description

We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in St. Petersburg, Florida. This full-time position offers a stable, rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The PTA will support a licensed Physical Therapist in delivering individualized treatment plans to help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall physical function.
Responsibilities:
Carry out physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to restore function and improve mobility. Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury-prevention techniques. Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment approaches as directed, and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including PTs, physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and facility policies related to patient care and documentation.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program. Current Florida PTA license or eligibility for licensure. CPR certification (preferred). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
Full-time position with consistent, predictable scheduling (40 hours per week). Potential work settings include hospitals, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, or home health.
