Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care across diverse settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, and acute care units. Your hands-on approach and compassionate attitude will empower patients of all ages—pediatrics to geriatrics—to regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized care plans for patients across various clinical settings. Conduct therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, and manual techniques to promote healing and mobility. Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist. Support discharge planning by providing patient education on exercises, mobility aids, and home care strategies. Help prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment hygiene, and ensure safety protocols are followed during therapy sessions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including nurses and physicians—to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Participate in ongoing training on anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and specialized therapies like physiotherapy techniques. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation. Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy methods. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Experience working in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities or home health environments. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards for accurate recordkeeping. Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans aligned with patient needs and treatment goals. Prior experience in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics or acute care settings is highly desirable. $43.56 - $52.45 per hour
