In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. Your expertise will support patients of all ages and conditions, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health environments, and skilled nursing facilities. This is a paid position that offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Collaborate with licensed physical therapists to develop and execute personalized care plans for patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and home health. Assist with patient evaluations by preparing them for therapy sessions and documenting progress accurately. Perform therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, physiotherapy exercises, and other modalities aimed at pain relief and functional improvement. Support discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and home safety measures. Monitor patient responses during treatment sessions, adjusting techniques as directed by the supervising therapist to optimize outcomes. Maintain detailed records of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions. Requirements Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program; current licensure or registration as required by state law. Proven experience working in skilled nursing facilities or inpatient settings; home health experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques. Hands-on experience with trigger point therapy and other manual therapy modalities. Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient rehabilitation. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support discharge planning and patient-centered care goals. Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals effectively.
