Under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist, you will implement individualized treatment plans for injured workers. Your primary goal will be to help patients regain strength, mobility, and the specific functional capacity required for their unique job demands.
Key Responsibilities Treatment Implementation:
Deliver therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait/balance training as outlined in the PT's plan of care.Functional Focus:
Tailor treatments to simulate job-specific tasks (lifting, climbing, repetitive reaching) to prepare patients for their "Return to Work" status.Patient Education:
Instruct patients on proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and home exercise programs to prevent re-injury.Progress Tracking:
Monitor and document patient response to treatment; communicate frequently with the supervising PT and occupational medicine providers regarding progress or barriers to recovery.Collaboration:
Work closely with employers, case managers, and insurance adjusters to provide updates on functional milestones.Fit-for-Duty Assistance:
Support the clinical team in performing Work Conditioning and Fit-for-Duty testing.Required Qualifications Education:
Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.Licensure:
Current (or eligible) license to practice as a PTA in the State of Idaho.Certification:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate patients through the workers' compensation process. Preferred Skills & Experience Spanish language fluency with understanding of medical terminology. Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting. Familiarity with Idaho Workers' Compensation regulations and documentation. Knowledge of manual therapy techniques and industrial rehabilitation. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift/transfer patients (up to 50 lbs) and demonstrate heavy-duty lifting techniques. Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods in a fast-paced clinic environment. Benefits Competitive hourly rate (Estimated $23-$33/hr based on experience).
