Clinton Manor provides long-term care with skilled nursing that accommodates seniors or individuals with high medical needs. A team of highly-skilled RN's, LPN's and Certified Nurse Assistants support residents recuperating from surgery, stroke or illness. Clinton Manor also specializes in assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals (also known as DSPs) provide hands-on, person-centered, direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities whom reside with us. We have now extended out therapy department and looking to find quality candidates to fill supporting roles within this department. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides skilled physical therapy interventions to residents in a skilled nursing facility under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA implements individualized treatment plans, documents resident progress, and helps residents achieve their highest level of function and independence. This is a PRN position and will fill in as needed Clinton Manor's full benefits listing: https://clintonmanorlivingcenter.com/benefits-list/ Essential DutiesResponsibilities Implement physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility activities Assist with resident screenings and collect data on resident response to treatment for the supervising PT's review Educate residents and families on therapeutic exercises, use of assistive devices (walkers, canes, wheelchairs), and techniques to maintain therapy progress at home Communicate resident progress, concerns, and changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team promptly Document all therapy services accurately and timely in accordance with facility policy and payer/regulatory requirements Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment and follow established infection control and safety procedures Maintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA and resident rights standards Participate in facility orientation, in-service training, and continuing education required to maintain Iicensure Education, CertificationLicensure Requirements Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination for PTAs (NPTE-PTA) Current, unrestricted state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant Continuing education as required by the state licensing board to maintain licensure (commonly around 20 hours per renewal cycle; requirements vary by state) ExperiencePreferred Skills Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, compassionate resident care Ability to work under general supervision while exercising sound clinical judgment within scope of practice EOE
