POSITION SUMMARY
The PTA is responsible for assisting the physical therapist in providing quality services to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, documentation, reporting changes in patient status to PT, therapeutic interventions and implementation of the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
EDUCATION
Graduate from an accredited school in physical therapy assisting with AAS. Licensed to practice as a physical therapist in the state of Illinois. Certifications, license and permits required. Position Criteria The applicant must be a fully qualified person from a clinical standpoint. The applicant must be able to develop and train department personnel. The applicant must be effective as a practicing clinician as he/she is involved in the treatment of unusual or difficult patient. The applicant must provide direct or indirect supervision to employees of the department. The applicant must be sufficiently flexible to insure that STAT and fluctuating requests are effectively handled. Work Environment/Physical Demands The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Demonstrates the ability to work accurately and effectively in oral and written directions and communication. Enjoys working with people and works cooperatively with other hospital staff. Constant kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional need to lift patients Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
