Qualifications The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. Implements treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation). Observes patient responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Observes and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients' responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist. Provides instructions to patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home. Supports Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Other duties as assigned.
