Job Description

JOB DUTIES
Collect, assess, and record patient information Implement and execute established treatment plans and help guide therapeutic exercise Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility Advise patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote physical health Set up therapy equipment Sanitize therapy area Lift or move patients, as necessary Monitor and guide patients through exercises Document patient care history in a timely and accurate manner Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public Detail-oriented with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements Computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Meditech, preferred Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations, as well as exerting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds constantly
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited educational institution, required Current Kansas Physical Therapy Assistant License, required Current BLS Certification, required 1-2 years' experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
