Job Description
Progress Physical Therapy is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care for individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, sports injuries, work-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, post-surgical conditions, and other musculoskeletal disorders. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation services while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with all clinic policies and state regulations. Essential Responsibilities Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic exercises, functional training, gait training, balance activities, and neuromuscular re-education. Apply physical agents and modalities as appropriate, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat, cold, and traction (within scope of practice). Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics. Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and functional activities. Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and clinic policies. Communicate effectively with physicians, case managers, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives. Provide excellent customer service and help create a welcoming environment for patients. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to assist patients with transfers and mobility. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
