1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant with an active PTA license and a minimum of 3 years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting. Details Day shift schedule 13-week contract assignment Work setting is a long-term care and skilled nursing facility Patient population consists of residents requiring physical therapy services to maximize functional abilities and independence Rehabilitation Therapy department focusing on physical therapy services Requirements Active PTA license required if applicable Current
BLS/BCLS
certification required Associate degree required Minimum 3 years of experience as a PTA Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently; lifts over 50 lbs require a two-person assist Must be able to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching DOB and SSN may be required for consideration Additional Information Perform therapeutic procedures under physician or healthcare provider orders following supervising therapist evaluation, observing all precautions, indications, and contraindications Treat residents according to department protocols and individualized plans of care, including functional short- and long-term goals Monitor treatment effectiveness and progress the treatment plan toward established functional goals in consultation with the evaluating therapist Document all therapeutic interactions with residents per department procedures in a timely manner Recommend and obtain appropriate assistive devices and provide related education to residents and caregivers Attend relevant team meetings and communicate resident status changes or concerns to the evaluating therapist promptly Assist with development of new rehabilitation programs and services Responsible for maintaining required licenses, certifications, and annual compliance requirements Collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment with a resident-centered care approach
