Job Description

Provide direct patient care in accordance with the Physical Therapist's established plan of care and Maryland licensure guidelines Administer therapeutic interventions, monitor patient status, and report changes requiring reassessment Collect objective data and document patient progress accurately and timely Assist with discharge planning, referrals, and coordination of continuing care Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, exercises, and equipment use Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary rehab team members Participate in case conferences and team meetings Supervise and mentor aides, students, observers, and volunteers as assigned Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program Associate of Arts degree required Active Maryland Physical Therapy Assistant license or temporary Maryland license pending state board examination or reciprocity Current BLS/CPR certification required No prior clinical experience required beyond educational training Ability to perform all job functions independently after initial orientation period Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to learn and use electronic medical records and point-of-care documentation systems Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and care needs Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and assist patients throughout the workday May be required to lift or transfer patients and equipment Exposure to blood and bodily fluids and typical healthcare clinical environments Work with a supportive and experienced rehab team Serve patients across a wide range of ages and conditions Opportunities for mentorship and professional development Meaningful work that directly impacts patient recovery and quality of life Basic Life Support Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
