Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities. The role requires a strong understanding of physiotherapy principles and techniques, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Duties Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist. Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities. Utilize techniques such as trigger point therapy to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients. Educate patients and their families on home health exercises and self-care strategies. Monitor patients' responses to treatment and report any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist. Work with diverse populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring acute care. Qualifications Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. Experience in skilled nursing facilities or outpatient clinics is preferred. Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development. Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient communication and support. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Previous experience in home health settings is a plus.
