In this vital role, you will support patient recovery and mobility by assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality physiotherapy services across various settings. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes, promote healing, and enhance overall well-being. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in diverse environments, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Conduct therapeutic exercises, trigger point therapy, and other modalities to facilitate pain relief and mobility improvement. Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in medical records. Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, discharge planning, and home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery. Support discharge planning efforts by coordinating with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions from inpatient to outpatient or home health settings. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes across acute care, outpatient clinics, orthopedics, and specialized populations such as pediatrics or geriatrics. Experience Valid licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in good standing with the appropriate state licensing board. Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy. Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and patients requiring discharge planning. Experience supporting patients with musculoskeletal injuries or conditions related to orthopedics or geriatrics is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams dedicated to patient-centered care.
