Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy principles and a passion for patient care, with experience working across diverse clinical settings. As a PTA, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and contribute to the overall rehabilitation process. Your expertise will help improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote recovery for patients of all ages and conditions. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities under supervision. Monitor patient responses to treatments, document progress, and communicate observations to the supervising therapist. Support discharge planning by educating patients on home exercises and injury prevention strategies. Maintain accurate records of treatments administered, patient responses, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Assist in preparing treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment setup for safe therapy sessions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home health, or acute care settings to optimize patient outcomes. Stay informed about advancements in physiotherapy techniques and incorporate relevant methods such as physiology knowledge or specialized therapies like trigger point therapy. Skills Proficiency in physiotherapy practices including manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to physical therapy. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients in inpatient or outpatient settings. Knowledge of care plans development and implementation across various healthcare environments such as skilled nursing facilities or clinics. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to motivate and educate patients effectively. Familiarity with discharge planning processes and home health protocols to support ongoing recovery at home. Prior experience in outpatient clinics or acute care units is highly desirable.
