Job Description

Sampson Regional Medical Center is searching for a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Rehabilitation team!
Description:
The physical therapy assistant (PTA) assists in the practice of physical therapy in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Physical Therapy Practice Act. The physical therapy assistant works under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist by completing treatments based on the plan of care established by the evaluating physical therapist. The treatments are to address indicated impairments and functional limitations to assist patients with attainment of maximal functional ability following injury, disease, or general debility.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Applied Science from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program (grandfather clause acceptable). Annual certificate of license by the State of North Carolina. BLS Certification. One year of clinical experience preferred. Ability to organize and conduct clinical activities of the Rehabilitation Department. Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental aging process as it relates to the physical assessment and treatment of patients of all age categories. Exhibits professionalism in all interactions within the hospital system and the outside public. Able to work in collaboration with a variety of individuals and disciplines. Understands the wellness concept and can communicate with clients from the wellness perspective. Thorough theoretical and clinical/practical knowledge of evaluations and basic treatment designs for a wide variety of diagnoses, physical therapy modalities, assistive devices to help maximize functional ADL, and the application and instruction in use of prosthetic/orthotic devices.
Hours:
This is a PRN position. Required to work a minimum of one (1) weekend per month and one (1) holiday per year. Your Health, Our Passion!
