  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing facilities with a geriatric population. Your expertise in physical therapy practices will contribute significantly to the rehabilitation and recovery of our patients. Candidates must be licensed to work as a physical therapy assistant in NYS. This is a great opportunity for a new or recent graduate of an appropriate physical therapy assistant program! Duties Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities as prescribed. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and discharge planning. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Utilize knowledge of physiology to assess patient needs and adjust treatments accordingly. Apply specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy when appropriate. Experience Previous experience in inpatient settings or skilled nursing facilities is preferred. Experience working with the geriatric population is advantageous. Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices. Knowledge of discharge planning processes to facilitate smooth transitions for patients post-treatment.
