Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy treatments and related services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA works collaboratively with therapists, clinical staff, and patients to support rehabilitation goals while ensuring quality care and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, ambulation, positioning, reconditioning, and activities of daily living. Apply therapeutic modalities and utilize specialized equipment as directed. Assist with braces, prosthetics, bandages, and other assistive devices. Monitor patient progress and report responses, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Assist the Physical Therapist during evaluations, testing, and complex treatment procedures. Follow all safety, infection control, and medical precautions. Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies. Complete required documentation and support basic clerical duties as needed. Demonstrate professionalism and positive patient interactions.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current PTA license in the state of practice. Current CPR certification. Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills. About PT Services Rehabilitation Inc P.T. Services began in 1972 with a small group of physical therapists and has grown into a Tiffin-based company with over 275 employees and numerous locations. When P.T. Services was first incorporated in 1972, its six therapists were practicing at outpatient clinics in Tiffin and Findlay, and at several nursing homes. A corporate headquarters for the company was opened in Tiffin in 1978, where management and support staff provided day-to-day business operations. In 1989, P.T. Services moved its corporate office to its current location at 2550 S. SR 100, Tiffin. In 2011, P.T. Services made an innovative change from being a privately held company to operating as an ESOP corporation. Essentially, an ESOP is a trust with assets that are divided into individual accounts, and enables employees to share in the wealth they share in creating.
