Job Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will support clinical interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, providing rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatments to patients with physical functioning disorders in a Long Term Care setting. Key responsibilities include administering manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices. The PTA will assess patient progress, communicate with supervising therapists for treatment adjustments, and document all clinical activities in accordance with regulatory standards. Primary duties encompass delivering evidence-based interventions, reporting on treatment outcomes, offering consultation and counseling to patients and their families, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will participate in care conferences, trainings, and team meetings, assist with obtaining necessary DME or supplies, and support student supervision under the guidance of a Physical Therapist. Additionally, adherence to APTA guidelines, state practice acts, and ethical standards is mandatory. Active State Licensure is required.
