Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Per Diem / PRN Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island 10 Woodland Drive Coventry, RI 02816 Job Type Per Diem / PRN (As Needed) Position Summary Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team on a Per Diem / PRN basis. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide skilled therapy services to residents in our skilled nursing, respiratory care, and subacute rehabilitation facility. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team committed to helping residents improve mobility, function, and overall quality of life. Responsibilities Administer physical therapy treatments and interventions as established by the supervising Physical Therapist. Assist residents in improving strength, balance, mobility, endurance, and functional independence. Monitor resident responses to treatment and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Accurately document treatment sessions and resident progress in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with physical therapists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members. Participate in resident care planning and team meetings as needed. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, facility, and professional standards.
Qualifications Required:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current Rhode Island Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License in good standing (Required). Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented healthcare environment.
Preferred:
Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, respiratory care, or long-term care settings. CPR certification. Schedule Per Diem / PRN Flexible scheduling As-needed weekday and weekend coverage Opportunity for additional hours based on facility needs #IND2
