Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PRN (as-needed) Physical Therapist Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across diverse settings. This flexible position allows you to apply your expertise in physiotherapy and patient-centered care to help individuals regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. You will work alongside licensed physical therapists to implement personalized treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives compassionate and effective therapy tailored to their unique needs. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing comprehensive care plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. Deliver targeted interventions such as trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to promote healing and functional recovery. Monitor patient progress closely, document treatment responses accurately, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist. Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and mobility training. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper use of equipment during therapy sessions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and caregivers to optimize patient outcomes. Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy techniques, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology to enhance treatment effectiveness. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). Demonstrated experience in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health environments. Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and modalities for pain relief and mobility enhancement. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care planning processes. Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients in acute care settings. Ability to effectively communicate treatment goals and progress with patients and team members. Knowledge of discharge planning procedures and familiarity with outpatient therapy protocols.
