Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant is a qualified professional under the supervision of a qualified PT who performs services planned, delegated, and supervised by the PT, assists in preparing clinical notes and progress reports and participates in educating the patient and family and in in service programs.
Essential Functions:
The Physical Therapy Assistant duties shall be directed by a licensed Physical Therapist and prescribed by a physician: Treats patients in accordance with the care plan of the patient as established by the Physical Therapist after Physical Therapist performs the initial evaluation to establish treatment goals, frequency, duration, and specific modalities to be used in accordance with the physician's referral Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients as they practice exercises and functional activities. Confer with physical therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment. Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress, and report to physical therapist. Measure patients' range-of-joint motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations. Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches. Train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices. Ensure patients are following the exercise directions effectively, and making necessary corrections

Education and Qualifications Required:
Licensed or eligible for license in the State of Texas Graduated from a program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association Two (2) years of applicable experience
