Physical Therapy Tech Southwest Texas MedClinic - 3.6 San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time 11 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation CPR Certification Phone communication Computer literacy First aid High school diploma or GED Driver's License Clerical experience Productivity software Phone call management Full Job Description The Physical Therapy Tech (PTT) supports daily clinic operations by assisting Physical Therapists with treatment preparation, exercise instruction, patient flow, and customer service. The role also includes front desk responsibilities such as scheduling, insurance verification, and patient billing. This position contributes to delivering high-quality, personal care aligned with CCP's mission and values.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assists patients with positioning, draping, modality setup, and selected treatment activities as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). Instructs basic therapeutic and home exercises (not initial evaluations or treatment plans).
Serves as primary receptionist:
greets patients, answers phones, schedules appointments, verifies insurance, and collects copays. Performs reminder calls, updates patient records, and ensures accurate EMR documentation flow. Maintains a clean and organized clinic environment, including treatment rooms and equipment. Manages supply inventory, submit supply/equipment requests, and maintains logs. Monitors patient responses and communicates concerns promptly to the PT or PTA. Prepares treatment areas before and after each session. Assists with billing data entry, charge capture, and accurate patient check out. Supports clinic meetings, follows departmental policies, and exhibits strong customer service. Models teamwork and supports PT staff across all clinic's daily needs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Experience using phones, fax, copier, and general office equipment. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; EMR preferred). Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle fast-paced workflows.
Certificate/License:
Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Requires prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires an uninhibited driver's license to accommodate travel to off-site meetings and workgroup sessions. Fast paced clinical office setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions. All team members are required to comply with federal, state and organizational policies regarding confidentiality.
