Job Description

Job Summary We are a therapist owned, private practice, seeking a compassionate, dependable, and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. The ideal candidate is committed to improving patients' mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life through individualized treatment plans. Essential Job Responsibilities Provide physical therapy treatments as outlined in the patient's plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, mobility training, and functional activities. Monitor patient progress and accurately document treatments, responses, and changes in condition. Communicate patient progress and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises, safety precautions, and home exercise programs. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Ensure treatment areas and equipment are clean, organized, and safe. Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and safety procedures. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as needed. Follow all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (required). Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the rehabilitation team. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Previous clinical experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of physical therapy techniques, equipment, and rehabilitation practices. Ability to motivate and encourage patients throughout their recovery. Strong clinical observation and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Ability to safely demonstrate therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques.
