Job Description
Job Summary The Physical Therapy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the physical therapy team by assisting with patient care and ensuring a smooth operational flow within the clinic or hospital setting. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others recover from injuries and improve their physical well-being. The aide will work closely with patients, providing support during therapy sessions and contributing to their overall treatment experience. Duties Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and exercises for patients. Prepare treatment areas by cleaning and organizing equipment. Help patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning during therapy sessions. Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the physical therapist. Maintain accurate patient records, including intake information and treatment notes. Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities of daily living. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean environment. Provide excellent patient service, fostering a supportive atmosphere for recovery. Qualifications Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential. Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, particularly in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient environments. Familiarity with patient care practices, including orthopedics, geriatrics, and sub-acute care experience is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating compassion for patients' needs.
