In this vital role, you will assist licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and post-acute settings. Your energy and attention to detail will help create a supportive environment that promotes healing, mobility, and improved quality of life for diverse patient populations. Responsibilities Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, and assisting with therapeutic exercises. Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Assist with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining treatment plans. Maintain accurate documentation of patient activities, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Help manage inventory of therapy supplies and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use. Provide compassionate patient service by addressing questions, offering encouragement, and fostering a positive environment. Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care plans for patients in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, or rehabilitation centers. Requirements Prior hospital or clinical experience working with patients in acute care, inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices. Experience supporting patients with orthopedic conditions, geriatrics, or sub-acute care needs. Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent patient service and care while maintaining safety protocols. Familiarity with hospital medicine workflows and intake procedures is preferred. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as hospitals or outpatient clinics requiring acute or sub-acute care expertise. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients about their therapy programs.
