PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital Full Time (.9 FTE, 72 hours every pay period) 8-hour Day shifts, generally no weekends Compassion. Accountability. Collaboration. Foresight. Joy. The Physical Therapist Assistant carries out inpatient treatment procedures for pediatrics, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients under the guidance and general supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. I dentifies opportunities to improve patient experience. Participates in projects/programs designed to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction. Provides patient treatment in accordance with plan of care and under guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. Provides adequate documentation for purposes of justifying reimbursement to third party payers, establishing baseline data and subsequent progress, and recording of treatment. Assists with training of aides. Attends committee assignments, meetings, in services and special projects as assigned and appropriate. Works in more than one patient care area: inpatient, outpatient, rehab unit, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and contract services.

Experience/Qualifications:

Knowledge of occupational therapy standards and practices normally acquired through completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. State of WI PTA licensure needed before starting position Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
