Pediatric Orthopedics Pay:
From $145,000 per year (DOE) About Us At Alaska Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic (AFOC), our goal is to improve quality of life through exceptional orthopedic care. AFOC has locations in Midtown Anchorage, South Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, and Wasilla. This position is based in Anchorage and offers a unique opportunity to join our growing Pediatric Orthopedic Team. Position Overview AFOC is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Pediatric Orthopedic Team and work closely with Dr. Brown, the only fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon in the State of Alaska whose practice is open to the public. This position offers a unique blend of pediatric orthopedic clinic care, surgical assisting, and coverage of our Pediatric Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic. The Physician Assistant will play a key role in evaluating and managing pediatric orthopedic conditions, assisting in surgery, and helping provide timely access to specialized orthopedic care for children throughout Alaska. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated PA who is passionate about caring for pediatric patients and interested in developing specialized expertise in pediatric orthopedics while working alongside a highly trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Work directly with a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon Gain specialized experience in pediatric orthopedic care and surgery Split time between clinic, surgical assisting, and pediatric orthopedic walk-in care Collaborative team environment focused on exceptional patient outcomes Statewide reputation for high-quality orthopedic care Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Key Responsibilities Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions Provide coverage for the Pediatric Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic Assist Dr. Brown in the operating room and perioperative patient care Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and other studies as appropriate Apply casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic treatments Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery expectations Coordinate follow-up care and referrals as needed Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and families to ensure excellent outcomes Qualifications Alaska licensure required Board-certified Physician Assistant preferred Orthopedic, pediatric, surgical, urgent care, emergency medicine, or sports medicine experience preferred Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred New graduates with a strong interest in pediatric orthopedics are encouraged to apply Skills & Abilities Comfortable making independent clinical decisions within scope of practice Strong patient assessment and diagnostic skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment Highly organized with excellent time-management skills Compassionate approach to caring for children and families Dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care Effective communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and families Compensation & Benefits Competitive Salary - Negotiable (DOE) 401(k)
