Dothan, AL No Remote TYPE Direct Hire ID MA84-2752689 POSTED May 27, 2026 General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant We are excited to invite a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider, either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to join our General Surgery team. This full-time role is perfect for a highly motivated professional eager to work in a dynamic and fast-paced surgical environment, providing patient-centered care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Position Summary As an Advanced Practice Provider in General Surgery, you will play a critical role in both surgical and perioperative care across ambulatory and inpatient settings. Your expertise will contribute to delivering comprehensive patient evaluations and effective surgical care. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed evaluations in outpatient surgical clinics. Perform thorough pre-operative and post-operative assessments. Manage surgical consultations and coordinate with surgical teams. Assist in discharge planning and provide patient education. Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging. Ensure accurate clinical documentation within the EMR. Engage in multidisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in call rotation and provide cross-coverage as needed. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current certification with eligibility for Alabama licensure. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Preferred experience in surgical or acute care environments. Excellent clinical assessment and procedural skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Schedule This is a full-time position with responsibilities in both clinic and inpatient surgical settings, including participation in a call rotation as part of the surgical team.
