A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Provides professional care to patients presenting with a broad variety of medical or surgical complaints which range from non-urgent to emergent in nature within the scope of a physician's assistant. Qualifications Education / Licensure /

Certification:

Must have a current license in the State of Alabama, current

ACLS & PALS

provider.

Graduate of an approved program for Physician's Assistant.
Possesses skills needed for functioning effectively as an emergency department physician's assistant.
Maintain collaboration requirements per hospital bylaws and Alabama Board of Nursing.
