In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and specialty clinics. Your expertise will support diagnosis, treatment plans, and ongoing management of diverse medical conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your clinical skills and dedication directly impact patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care that meets the highest standards of excellence. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation using EMR systems such as Epic and Cerner. Assist in diagnostic evaluations by ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, medical imaging, and other diagnostic procedures. Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication administration, preventive care, and health coaching to promote wellness and disease management. Perform procedures such as suturing, injection administration (including botulinum toxin treatments), phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques for infection control. Participate in clinical research studies or clinical trials to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining accurate medical records, coding diagnoses with
ICD-10/ICD-9
codes, CPT coding for procedures, and managing data collection for quality assurance. Requirements Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU or trauma center environments; Level I or II trauma center experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms; telehealth experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Ability to perform complex procedures including suturing, dermal fillers (nice-to-have), spinal taps, dialysis management, and neonatal ventilator support. Experience with infection control protocols and radiation therapy procedures is advantageous. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment, intake procedures, discharge planning, and post-acute care coordination. Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations such as urgent care or emergency room settings while maintaining professionalism and compassion. Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are preferred.
