Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Urgent Care Physician Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, efficient urgent care services to diverse patient populations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in fast-paced environments, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, all while adhering to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and compassion. Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history intake to determine urgent care needs. Manage acute pain and minor injuries by administering injections, digital blocks, ear lavages, foreign body removal, suturing wounds, I&D, Toe nail excisions, and other typical urgent care procedures. Interpret diagnostic tests including radiology reports, laboratory results, EKG, and imaging studies to inform clinical decisions. Prescribe medications in accordance with DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) regulations . Must have an
ACTIVE PA
license and DEA license. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop comprehensive discharge plans, follow-up care instructions, and patient education strategies. Requirements Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification to practice in an urgent care setting. Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or urgent care environments with proficiency in triage and acute care management. Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Critical care experience including airway management, ventilator support, and critical response procedures preferred. Skilled in performing procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, spinal taps, NG tube placement, and other medical interventions. Excellent client communication skills coupled with a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology fundamentals.
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
