Physician Assistant- Cardio-thoracic

We are looking for an experienced Full Time or Part Time Physician Assistant to join our team at Physician Assistant Specialists- California, Inc. (aka PASCAL)! PASCAL is a unique corporation of highly skilled physician assistants specializing in cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery. Established in 2013, PASCAL is owned and operated by physician assistants serving more than 25 hospitals throughout Southern California. Our PAs have the luxury of assisting surgeons in the operating room without the responsibility of completing rounds, charting, clinic or managing patient calls. Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program Current California Physician Assistant License NCCPA Certification National Provider Identification Number (NPI) Current

ACLS/BLS/PALS

certificate DEA License California Controlled Substance Course Job Requirements Strong experience with first and second assist with all types of cardiothoracic surgical procedures (minimum 3 years) Endoscopic Vein Harvest experience and proficiency required (Getinge/Maquet) Endoscopic Radial Artery Harvest preferred On call requirements for emergency surgery only, approximately 1 week of coverage every 4 weeks for full time employees Daily commuting required between facilities with some extended drive times Strong team member who is flexible and self-motivated No clinic, rounding or patient calls Due to the intensive nature of the job requirements and our need for an experienced physician assistant, we cannot accept new graduates or those without very strong cardiothoracic surgical experience. While we are not able to train on the fundamentals of cardiothoracic surgery, we do develop select employees for pediatric/congenital heart surgery, robotic surgery and some additional surgical subspecialities.
