Job Description

Alumni Healthcare Staffing seeks a Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in California. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, conduct assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement treatment plans. Responsibilities include managing acute and/or chronic conditions, documenting in the EMR, and coordinating follow-up care. You'll work within a collaborative, service-driven environment that values integrity and responsiveness while supporting high-quality patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities Provide direct patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under physician supervision Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests and imaging studies Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations Document all patient encounters accurately in the EMRCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and preventive care Participate in handoffs, consultations, and care coordination across settings Adhere to all clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards Support quality improvement and best practices within the clinical site Required Skills Physical examination and patient assessment Clinical decision-making and differential diagnosis Ordering and interpreting labs and imaging Medication management and prescribing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Acute and chronic disease management Patient and family education Care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration Regulatory and compliance knowledge (HIPAA, CMS) Time management in fast-paced clinical settings
