This group is uniquely positioned to offer cutting-edge, comprehensive vascular and endovascular services in both ambulatory and inpatient settings, maintaining expanding partnerships with prestigious academic centers and large healthcare systems. Position Summary We are seeking a Physician Assistant to provide world-class therapy to patients with rare, debilitating disorders under the directorship of a world-renowned expert in the field of vascular anomalies , including hemangiomas and vascular malformations. The PA will play a crucial role in the evaluation, diagnosis, workup, surgical/interventional care, and follow-up for patients traveling to this center. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking new work in the field and work one-on-one with an acclaimed vascular surgeon.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Surgical Duties:
Evaluation & Management:
Perform comprehensive history and physical exams, order diagnostic tests, and diagnose/manage patients with vascular disease and anomalies.
Surgical First Assist:
Act as first assist in both hospital and Office-Based Lab (OBL) surgeries and interventions.
Patient Care:
Provide optimal care from check-in to discharge, including prescribing, dispensing, and administering medications.
Rounding & Call:
Perform hospital rounding and provide occasional after-hour call coverage
Education:
Provide compassionate support and education to families regarding complex diagnoses.
Program Development & Administrative Leadership:
Marketing & Outreach:
Assist with marketing efforts, including community outreach, networking, and social media engagement.
Educational Programming:
Develop and offer educational programs/events for both professionals and the lay community.
Clinical Leadership:
Provide clinical guidance and leadership to the team and complete ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Physician Assistant license in the state of Connecticut (or able to obtain).
Experience:
Prior experience as a PA in a vascular setting is preferred, however the group is willing to train an eager new graduate with specific interest in vascular medicine.
