Job Description

Job Description Stamford Hospital's Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a per diem physician assistant to add to their growing team! The Orthopedic Trauma team is comprised of approximately 13 full time PAs and the program provides 24/7/365 coverage. Orthopedic Trauma Physician Assistants provide care to patients in the Emergency Department, the OR, and the Inpatient Units including total joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, hand, spine, foot & ankle, pediatric, and orthopedic trauma patients. Responsibilities include admission H&Ps, Consultations, Rounding, discharging, and first/second assisting in the OR. The Orthopedic Trauma PAs perform bedside procedures including independent reductions, splinting, casting, arthrocentesis, nailbed repair, etc. The right incumbent will bring several years of OR (first assist) experience.
Schedule:
Minimum 1 shift per month. Rotating days/nights/weekends with emphasize on weekend day shift from 6a-6p.
Requirements:
1)Must have experience doing orthopedic trauma cases. 2) CT Physician Assistant License required upon hire 4) BLS certification required 5) ACLS certification required As a Planetree hospital, we are committed to personalizing, humanizing, and demystifying the healthcare experience for patients and their families.
