AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiovascular Surgery - Outpatient Nurse Practitioner, APRN or Physician Assistant, PA-C Serving AdventHealth Celebration Join a high-performing Cardiovascular Surgery team providing comprehensive outpatient care for patients before and after cardiac surgery. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in the surgical management of complex cardiovascular conditions while partnering closely with cardiovascular surgeons throughout the continuum of care. As an integral member of the team, you will evaluate and manage patients in the clinic setting, providing preoperative assessments, postoperative follow-up care, wound management, patient education, and ongoing clinical support. The APP serves as a key clinical resource for patients navigating their surgical journey, helping optimize outcomes through evidence-based care and close collaboration with the surgical team. Scope of Practice
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories, physical examinations, and treatment planning.
  • Manage patients throughout the preoperative and postoperative phases of cardiac surgery.
  • Provide follow-up care, postoperative monitoring, wound assessments, dressing changes, and treatment of surgical site complications.
  • Coordinate care plans and patient education to support recovery and long-term cardiovascular health.
  • Triage and manage patient inquiries related to surgical preparation, recovery, medications, and symptoms.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiovascular surgeons and multidisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Care for patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions and comorbidities, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and other complex medical conditions. Why Join Our Team?

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • 100% outpatient practice Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Cardiovascular surgery, cardiology, cardiac critical care, or related cardiovascular experience preferred.
  • Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and manage complex patient populations.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative specialty practice. Licensure & Certification
  • Current Florida APRN or Physician Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain).
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
