Overview Join our dynamic Allergy & Immunology team as a Physician Assistant , providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with allergic, immunologic, and related respiratory conditions. In this role, you will work closely with allergists, immunologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate patients, establish diagnoses, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing management of acute and chronic allergic and immune-mediated conditions. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult patients. This position offers the opportunity to participate in allergy testing, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, medication management, patient education, and preventive care within a collaborative outpatient clinical environment. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories, allergy histories, medication reviews, physical examinations, and assessment of presenting symptoms. Evaluate and manage common allergic and immunologic conditions, including allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema/atopic dermatitis, food allergies, drug allergies, contact allergies, urticaria, angioedema, recurrent infections, and other immune-mediated disorders. Review and interpret laboratory studies, pulmonary function testing, allergy testing, imaging, and other diagnostic evaluations to assist in establishing appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans. Perform and/or assist with allergy diagnostic procedures, including skin-prick testing, intradermal testing, patch testing, spirometry, and other office-based diagnostic assessments as appropriate. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising allergist/immunologist. Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations, including antihistamines, inhaled therapies, corticosteroids, epinephrine, and other allergy and immunology medications. Provide education regarding allergen avoidance, medication use, asthma management, anaphylaxis recognition, emergency action plans, and appropriate use of epinephrine autoinjectors. Participate in allergen immunotherapy services, including patient assessment, treatment administration, monitoring, and recognition and management of systemic reactions in accordance with clinic protocols. Assist with and monitor biologic therapies used in the treatment of allergic and immunologic conditions, including appropriate patient screening, administration, and follow-up. Recognize and appropriately manage acute allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and other urgent allergy-related conditions. Provide follow-up care and longitudinal management for patients with chronic allergic, respiratory, and immunologic diseases. Coordinate care and communicate effectively with primary care providers, pulmonologists, dermatologists, otolaryngologists, pediatricians, and other specialists when appropriate. Document patient encounters, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up recommendations accurately within EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Participate in telehealth consultations, medication follow-ups, patient education, and remote triage when appropriate. Assist with prior authorizations, medication coordination, referrals, and other aspects of comprehensive patient care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, clinical trials, and evidence-based practice initiatives related to allergy and immunology. Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care while maintaining clear and effective communication with patients and families. Experience Current Physician Assistant license and eligibility to practice in the applicable state. NCCPA certification preferred/required as applicable. Prior experience in allergy and immunology, pulmonology, primary care, pediatrics, dermatology, urgent care, or another outpatient specialty is highly preferred. Experience evaluating and managing allergic and immunologic conditions is strongly preferred. Experience with allergy testing, immunotherapy, asthma management, anaphylaxis treatment, or biologic therapies is a significant advantage. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills with the ability to develop appropriate differential diagnoses and treatment plans. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, clinical documentation, and outpatient billing practices. Familiarity with medication prior authorizations, specialty medications, and insurance requirements is beneficial. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and evidence-based clinical practice. Excellent communication and patient education skills, particularly when working with pediatric patients and families. Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to acute allergic reactions and other urgent clinical situations. Comfortable working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
