The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide health care services to patients under the direction of a ENT physician. In this role, you will work side-by-side with ENT physicians to provide comprehensive care from initial consultations and diagnostic procedures to post-operative management. This role demands a clinician who excels in a fast-paced environment, providing diagnostic, and preventative healthcare. You will play a key role in optimizing patient flow and maintaining our standard of clinical excellence for all patients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures. Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results. Diagnose and manage ENT-related conditions under the supervision of a physician. Perform in-office procedures such as ear lavage, nasal endoscopy, flexible laryngoscopy. Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment. Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress. Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations. Develop and implement treatment plans and recommending procedures. Assists physician with emergency treatments and more complex procedures. Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records (EHR). Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated competency dealing with all age groups including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or; Completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program (which requires two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
