The Physician Assistant will be primarily office based (M-F or T-F) and will not be required to take call but will be required to round while the supervising Urologist is on call- 1 week a month. There will be no weekend responsibilities for this role. We are seeking a physician assistant who is self-motivated, able to function independently in a small practice, with a caring attitude and is diligent following through on patient care. Emergency room, general surgery, or urology experience is preferred. Come grow with us!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Under the Supervising MD
  • The Physician Assistant will be responsible for following through on urology care plans. Typical schedule will be 23 at most 26 patients a day.
  • Independently evaluating new patients in clinic for non operative problems such as recurrent urinary tract infections, pelvic pain and overactive bladder.
  • Responsible for oversight of the medical assistants in the placement of catheters including foley catheters. suprapubic tubes and more.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory, diagnostic procedures and medications.
  • Triages patient phone calls when needed.
  • Attends required meetings and training.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Works closely with site manager and physicians with respect to hours, efficient patient flow and appropriate use of provider resources.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Complies with all Clinic policies
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned consistent with professional credentials.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 1.
Current licensure in the state of Florida as a PA with prescriptive authority. 2. Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 3. CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Hearing:
Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking:
Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
Vision:
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other:
Required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, required to occasionally stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, requires good dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and components, ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
