Works in surgical operating rooms and surgery departments, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient and perioperative care in collaboration with Gastroenterology and Orthopedic Surgery physicians. Perform daily hospital rounds and evaluate patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Conduct orthopedic consultations and comprehensive preoperative assessments for surgical candidates. Obtain and document patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical evaluations. Review laboratory results, diagnostic studies, imaging, and other pertinent clinical information to develop appropriate treatment plans. Assist in the medical optimization and preparation of patients prior to orthopedic surgery. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care, facilitate treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical expectations, recovery plans, and disease management. Participate in discharge planning, follow-up care, and transitions of care as appropriate. Communicate effectively with consulting providers, hospital staff, and ancillary services to support high-quality patient outcomes. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record. Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to established clinical protocols and best practices. Participate in call coverage and other clinical responsibilities as assigned by the practice. Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Florida APRN or PA-C license or eligibility to obtain. National certification required. Previous inpatient experience preferred. Gastroenterology or hospital-based APP experience preferred. Pay Range:
