Job Description
Overview Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join an established Neurosurgery practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. This position is full-time, 5 days a week, including rotations with established APP's for weeknight and weekend call. Responsibilities Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and patient discharges Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail. Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery. Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3 day weekend in 7 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month
