Chicagoland Infectious Disease is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality, in-person care across multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Monday-Friday with start times between 8:00 AM - 5:00

Improve patient outcomes while reducing unnecessary hospitalizations and promoting antimicrobial stewardship Role Overview As an Infectious Disease Physician Assistant , you will provide comprehensive medical care for patients with acute and chronic infectious diseases in skilled nursing and long-term care settings. Working under the supervision of an Infectious Disease physician, you will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, monitor clinical progress, and collaborate with facility staff to ensure exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and ongoing patient assessments Evaluate, diagnose, and manage infectious diseases in skilled nursing and long-term care settings Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based clinical guidelines Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Illinois law and collaborative practice requirements Order and interpret laboratory tests, cultures, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic studies Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and contribute to residents' plans of care Coordinate transitions of care, discharge planning, and specialty referrals as appropriate Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) Identify opportunities to improve quality of care, infection prevention, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives Maintain a minimum of 12 patient visits per day (bonus eligible for exceeding productivity targets) Qualifications Active, unrestricted Illinois Physician Assistant license Current NCCPA certification Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) Infectious Disease experience strongly preferred Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, internal medicine, geriatrics, hospital medicine, or primary care preferred Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with geriatric populations Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care structures is a plus
Compensation Hourly Salary:
