This is a Salaried position. Overview In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to corporate philosophy of OSFMG, the advanced practice nurse/physician assistant shall be responsible for: Providing high quality patient care to the patients of OSF Exposure to a broad range of acute and complex neurological cases Primarily inpatient neurocritical care, including comprehensive neurological assessments, daily rounding, histories and physicals, new consults, admissions, and discharges Perform procedures in collaboration with neurocritical care intensivists Prepare patients for surgery, manage postoperative care, and support smooth care transitions across the continuum Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurocritical care intensivists Collaborative work environment with neurocritical care intensivists, residents, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams Maintaining the consistency and quality of all services provided to the Practice and its patients Maintaining full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed by Provider or other support staff Exercising diligence in assisting the Ministry CEO in keeping costs of the Practice to a minimum while maintaining a high level of quality care for patients Three 12-hour shifts per week (7 PM - 7 AM), Rotating weekends and holidays as part of the schedule Qualifications Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987 Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics
BLS/ACLS
Certified NIHSS and ENLS Certifications preferred Neurocritical care experience preferred Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hospital environment while maintaining patient-centered focus OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
