Job Description

About Fort Wayne Radiology:
Fort Wayne Radiology (FWR) is an established, independent, physician-owned practice serving vibrant northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio for over 70 years currently comprised of approximately 30 radiologists. We are a transparent, democratic practice with collaborative management. The shareholders of FWR have no interest in selling the practice. FWR serves Parkview Health Systems, one of the fastest growing and successful healthcare networks in the Midwest. In a joint venture, we co-own the area's state of the art breast and PET imaging centers. FWR is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an energetic and collaborative environment, focusing on patient care within the hospital's radiology departments. Work will include onsite coverage at one of the hospitals within Fort Wayne
  • Randallia or Parkview Regional Medical Center.
This is a full time, salaried position with the work schedule of Monday-Friday. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Complete history and physical exams, progress notes, discharge summaries, etc. Transcribe/write orders Provide instruction and explanation of procedures to patients including risks, benefits, and possible outcomes during the consenting process for exams/procedures Prescriptive authority as described in state law Assist with QA activities as appropriate Collaborate/consult with medical and nursing staff to provide continuity of patient care Administer contrast during exam/procedures, as indicated Procedures/exams performed by the physician assistant using imaging guidance include, but not limited to: biopsy, fiducial markers placement, fluid aspiration, drain/tube placement, vascular access, gastrointestinal studies, fluoroscopic procedures, urinary system studies, and joint and spine procedures Educate and communicate with physicians, families, patients, clinical teams Assist radiologist with various invasive and noninvasive procedures Flexible and able to except change Maintain accurate records and schedules
Qualifications and Skills:
Clear, concise communication in person and over the telephone. Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients or in surgeries/procedures when required. Problem-solving Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and handle fast paced environment Critical thinking Ability to evaluate and treat all demographic groups: infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric Maintain confidentiality Excellent patient care Successful graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Indiana physician assistant license Current Indiana radiologic technologist license
BLS, ACLS
certifications Current Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
