Job Description
Position Summary The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality healthcare services to patients in SCKBJ clinics and the operating room under the supervision of a physician. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge and skills in health promotion, disease prevention, and the assessment and management of acute and chronic conditions. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive patient care, including conducting physical examinations, obtaining medical histories, and documenting findings in the electronic health record (EHR). Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies. Assist physicians in surgical procedures as directed. Perform therapeutic interventions, including injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management. Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring continuity of care through accurate progress documentation. Educate and counsel patients on treatment adherence, preventive care, growth and development, family planning, and overall health maintenance. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required. Minimum of one year of hospital experience preferred Current APRN licensure in the State of Kansas (or eligibility/work permit) National Board Certification (ANCC or AANPC) required Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire) Physician Assistant (PA): Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Minimum of one year of hospital experience preferred Current PA licensure in the State of Kansas (or eligibility/temporary license) NCCPA certification required (or must obtain within 6-12 months of hire) Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire) Traveling to various locations throughout Kansas may be required .
