A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

The Cardiac Lung Services Line APP (nights) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. In conjunction with the attending, the APP will oversee care from OR/inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care. The APP may provide care throughout the system including ICU, progressive, and telemetry. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge clinical and technical competency sound clinical judgment professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills timely and compliant documentation responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. One year of related work experience required. Qualified candidates will have either APRN or PA-C. Night positions will receive priority for PTO amongst the team. Night positions automatically receive 10% increase in pay compared to day positions. Night positions only work 6 shifts in a pay period rather than 7 shifts required for day positions.
