What they do

A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

MaineHealth Waldo Hospital in beautiful Belfast, Maine is currently seeking a Physician Assistant to join its Walk in Care team. This position is a 32-hour a week position caring for patients of all ages with minor medical issues and injuries on a walk-in basis. We seek a PA who is looking to work in a fast-paced environment caring for various medical conditions as part of a patient centered team. Providers work collaboratively with our other Walk in care team members and Primary Care Providers. Our facility is currently embedded in our Primary Care office located on the Waldo campus.
The Position Offers:

Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
?Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Graduate of an accredited Certified Physician Assistant program.
License/Certification:
?Maine PA License and DEA. ACLS and PALS preferred. Experience in emergency medicine, urgent care/walk-in care or primary care is preferred. 2 years' experience as an PA is required.

Total compensation packages may include, based on eligibility, recruitment payments, relocation assistance, shift differentials, productivity-based incentives, quality incentives and other premiums. The pay range for this position is $96,587 to $124,995 annually based on the candidate's level of experience.
