Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings, including hospital, outpatient, urgent care, and specialty clinics. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and patient education. Your expertise will support acute and chronic care management, ensuring optimal health outcomes while adhering to all regulatory standards and hospital protocols. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks. Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data collection, and diagnostic testing procedures to inform treatment plans. Administer injections, including Botulinum toxin treatments for aesthetic or therapeutic purposes, along with other medications following aseptic technique and HIPAA guidelines. Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions such as medication administration and procedural techniques like suturing or wound care. Assist in complex procedures including airway management, ventilator support, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), spinal taps, and dialysis procedures within hospital or outpatient settings. Participate in clinical research trials related to infectious disease care, pain management, or other specialties to advance medical knowledge and patient outcomes. Support discharge planning by coordinating post-acute care services in nursing homes or home health environments while ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations. Skills Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management. Proficiency in advanced clinical skills including suturing, phlebotomy, IV infusion therapy, and basic life support (BLS). Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers with familiarity in ventilator management and airway control. Skilled in managing diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), hospice & palliative medicine patients, and those requiring urgent or emergency room care. Experience with telehealth platforms to provide remote patient assessments and follow-up care efficiently. Ability to perform physical examinations accurately while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of hospital medicine practices across medical-surgical units with expertise in acute care settings such as the PICU or neonatal intensive care units. Competence in data collection for clinical trials or quality improvement initiatives while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Familiarity with occupational health protocols for workplace injury assessments or wellness programs; experience in public health initiatives is a plus.
